The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC - महाराष्ट्र लोकसेवा आयोग) has issued an official Corrigendum Notice (शुद्धिपत्रक) regarding MPSC Group C Services Combined Preliminary Examination 2026 (Advt No. 017/2026). MPSC has officially extended the online application deadline to 31 July 2026 for candidates to fill 2,619 vacancies for various Group C cadre posts in Maharashtra Government departments.

1. Mode of Exam Changed to Offline (OMR Based)
Originally in Advt 017/2026 (published on 25 June 2026), MPSC stated that the Group C Preliminary Exam would be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) online mode. However, following representation and demands from candidates, MPSC officially reverted to the established Offline (OMR Based) pen-and-paper exam mode across all 36 district exam centers.
2. Revised Examination Schedule
- Preliminary Exam Date: Rescheduled from earlier 27 September 2026 to 25 October 2026 (Sunday).
- Main Exam Date: Scheduled on 27 December 2026 (Sunday).
3. Extended Application & Online Fee Dates
- Extended Application Deadline: 31 July 2026 (up to 23:59 PM).

District Center Selection Rules (जिल्हा केंद्र निवड मार्गदर्शक)
Important Instructions for Applicants regarding 36 District Centers:
- The exam will be held in 36 District Centers across Maharashtra State.
- New applicants submitting their form between 16 July and 31 July 2026 must choose their preferred District Center directly during online form submission.
- Already Applied Candidates (यापूर्वी अर्ज सबमिट केलेले उमेदवार): Candidates who submitted forms before 16 July 2026 must log in to `mpsconline.gov.in` under "My Account" -> Advt 017/2026 -> Click "View" -> Click "Center Selection" -> Select District -> Click "Apply v Submit".
- Center Selection Window: Available from 19 July 2026 (14:00 PM) to 31 July 2026 (23:59 PM).
- No separate payment is required for center selection if application fee was already paid.
- If a requested district center runs out of capacity, candidates will automatically be allotted their second nearest district center as per MPSC rules.

- General Qualification: Bachelor's Degree (Graduate) in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent institute.
- Clerk-Typist Post: Degree + Typewriting Certificate (Marathi 30 wpm / English 40 wpm) or GCC-TBC certificate.
- Tax Assistant Post: Degree + Typewriting Certificate (Marathi 30 wpm / English 40 wpm).
- Sub-Inspector Excise Post: Degree + Minimum Physical Standards (Height for Male: 165 cm, Female: 155 cm).
