The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has officially released the recruitment advertisement for 1,539 Talathi posts under the Revenue & Forest Department, Government of Maharashtra. This recruitment drive is organized under the Maharashtra Group C Combined Preliminary Examination 2026, bringing the total vacancy count under Group C to 5,707 posts.
Eligibility Criteria (पात्रता निकष)
Educational Qualification:
- Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree (Graduation in any discipline - BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BE, B.Tech, etc.) from a recognized Indian University.
- Knowledge of Marathi & Hindi languages is mandatory.
- Basic Computer Knowledge Certificate (MS-CIT or equivalent) is required (or can be submitted within 2 years of appointment).
Age Limit (वयोमर्यादा as on 01 August 2026):
- Unreserved / Open Category: 18 to 38 Years
- Backward Classes / Reserved Categories (OBC/SC/ST/EWS): 18 to 43 Years
- Physically Handicapped / PwBD: Up to 45 Years

Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The selection of candidates for the MPSC Talathi post involves the following stages:

Along with basic pay, employees receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), and medical benefits. The approximate in-hand salary ranges between ₹30,000 to ₹40,000 per month.
