1. Scientist-D (1 Vacancy | Max Age: 50 Yrs | ₹1,71,597/month)
- Educational Qualification: First Class Master's degree in Environmental Science / Natural Science OR First Class Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology (Environmental, Chemical, Civil, Energy & Environment, Biotechnology).
- Publications / Reports: Cumulative impact factor of published papers of at least 10 in UGC CARE-listed/Scopus-indexed journals OR 5 books/edited book chapters with ISBN OR 5 technical reports published by CPCB/SPCB.
- Experience: At least 7 years relevant practical experience in river pollution prevention/control/abatement, industrial pollution, sewage management, or environmental management.
2. Scientist-C (8 Vacancies | Max Age: 45 Yrs | ₹1,48,997/month)
- Qualification: First Class Master's in Environmental Science/Natural Science OR First Class B.E/B.Tech in Environmental, Chemical, Civil, Energy & Environment, or Biotechnology.
- Publications: Cumulative impact factor of at least 7, or specified book/technical report alternatives.

- Screening & Shortlisting: Applications will be screened based on essential qualification and experience. Where a large number of applications are received, CPCB may shortlist candidates via a written examination, percentage of marks, desirable qualification, or higher experience.
- Skill Test: Mandatory skill tests will be conducted for specific posts such as Administrative Assistant (noting & drafting) and Data Entry Operator (computer skill & typing).
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must present all original degrees, mark sheets, experience certificates, and IDs.
- Interview: Final selection is through Interview in Delhi.

9. Important Rules, Age Relaxation & Project Duration
- No Application Fee: Applying to CPCB 2026 recruitment is completely free (₹0).
- No Editing After Final Submission: Once submitted, application details cannot be modified.
- Multiple Posts Allowed: Candidates can apply for multiple posts provided separate applications are submitted for each post.
- Final Year Students Ineligible: Candidates awaiting final results or appearing in final year are not eligible. Valid degree or provisional certificate must be possessed on closing date (07.09.2026).
