The examination is available in multiple languages depending on the state/region. IBPS provides state-wise language options in addition to English and Hindi:
- Regional Language Medium: In addition to English & Hindi, questions are displayed in regional languages (e.g., Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Urdu) as per the state chosen.
- Local Language Proficiency: Candidates applying for Office Assistant in a state must possess local language proficiency. If not studied in 8th standard or above, a 6-month period after joining is granted to acquire proficiency.
