PFRDA Grade A Eligibility 2026: The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has released the official eligibility criteria for Officer Grade ‘A’ (Assistant Manager) Recruitment 2026. Candidates can apply across four streams: General, Research, Actuary and Official Language (Rajbhasha), provided they satisfy the prescribed educational qualifications and age limits.

The official recruitment notification (Advt. No. 03/2026) was issued on 3 September 2026 for a total of 30 posts. Online applications are open from 3 September 2026 to 24 September 2026.

👤 Who is Eligible to Take the PFRDA Grade A Exam in 2026?

Candidates who are Indian citizens and satisfy the prescribed age limit and stream-specific educational qualification can apply for PFRDA Grade A 2026.

Unlike some specialist regulatory recruitment exams, the General Stream accepts a wide range of academic backgrounds. Candidates holding a Master's degree in any discipline, a Law degree (LL.B), an Engineering degree (B.E/B.Tech), or professional CA/CS/CMA/CFA qualifications can apply for the General Stream.

1. General Stream Eligibility (25 Posts)

A candidate must possess ANY ONE of the following qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in ANY discipline from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Post Graduate Diploma of minimum 2 years' duration in ANY discipline (recognized as equivalent to Master's by AIU).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (B.E / B.Tech) from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Professional Qualifications: ACA/FCA (ICAI), ACS/FCS (ICSI), ACMA/FCMA (ICMAI), or CFA (CFA Institute).
Important Rule: General Stream candidates do NOT need a specialized degree in Finance or Economics. A Master's degree in any subject is accepted.

2. Research Stream Eligibility (02 Posts)

Master's Degree or 2-Year Post Graduate Diploma in specified quantitative, economic or technical subjects:

  • Economics & Business: Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Econometrics, Quantitative Economics, Financial Economics, Mathematical Economics, Business Economics, Agricultural Economics, Industrial Economics, Business Analytics.
  • Finance: Finance, Quantitative Finance, Mathematical Finance, Quantitative Techniques, International Finance, Business Finance, International and Trade Finance, Project & Infrastructure Finance, Agricultural Business Finance.
  • Statistics & Technology: Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, Statistics & Informatics, Applied Statistics & Informatics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Big Data Analytics.
  • Mathematics Route: Master's Degree in Mathematics PLUS a 1-Year PG Diploma in Statistics or related subjects.

3. Actuary Stream Eligibility (02 Posts)

  • Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University/Institute; AND
  • Passed or obtained exemption in all Seven (7) Core Principles subjects of the Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) examination.

4. Official Language (Rajbhasha) Eligibility (01 Post)

  • Option 1: Master's Degree in Hindi/Hindi Translation with English as a subject at Bachelor's Degree level.
  • Option 2: Master's Degree in Sanskrit, English, Economics, or Commerce with Hindi as a subject at Bachelor's level.
  • Option 3: Master's Degree in both English and Hindi/Hindi Translation.

Crucial OBC-NCL Rule: Only candidates belonging to the OBC Non-Creamy Layer are entitled to OBC age relaxation and reservation. OBC Creamy Layer candidates must apply under the Unreserved (General) category.

📋 Special Rules & Category Conditions

Yes. Candidates who have appeared for their final qualifying examination and are awaiting results can apply and appear in Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III. However, appointment is strictly subject to producing documentary evidence of having successfully passed the required qualification within the prescribed cut-off date. PFRDA specifically notes that no extension of time will be granted.

Yes, up to a maximum of 2 streams. A candidate can apply for up to two streams provided they meet the educational eligibility for both. A separate online application and separate fee payment (₹1,000) is mandatory for each stream. If more than two stream applications are submitted, only the latest valid application will be considered.

EWS Certificate: Must possess an Income and Asset Certificate valid for Financial Year 2026–27 based on income for FY 2025–26, issued on or after 1 April 2026.
Computer Literacy: Candidates are expected to be computer literate and conversant with MS Office applications (MS Word, MS Excel).
