Important Note for Other-State Candidates
Candidates who are not permanent residents (domicile) of Madhya Pradesh can apply ONLY against Unreserved (Open) vacancies. They do not receive MP category reservations or age relaxation benefits, and their upper age limit is strictly 33 years.

The MP Police Sub-Inspector selection procedure comprises two major competitive phases:
Compulsory for all candidates (Technical & Non-Technical).
- Total Marks: 100 Marks (100 MCQs)
- Duration: 2 Hours
- NO Negative Marking
- Shortlisting for Stage 2: Approx 10 times the vacancies in merit order.
Final selection is based on the combined marks of Stage 2:

Medical & Eyesight Standards
Unaided vision must be at least 6/9 in one eye and 6/12 in the other eye without glasses. Candidates must pass the Ishihara color-vision test. Knock-knee and flat-foot are disqualifying conditions.
2. Physical Proficiency Test (PPT) Events
Candidates qualifying Main examination undergo 3 physical events:
- 800-Metre Race: Timed running test as per prescribed age/gender benchmarks.
- Shot Put: Weight throwing distance test.
- Long Jump: Minimum jump distance requirement.

Pay Scale & Allowances (Level 9)
Subedar and all Sub-Inspector cadres carry Pay Level 9: ₹36,200 – ₹1,14,800 plus applicable DA, HRA, TA, Medical & Police Risk Allowances.
Stipend during 3-Year Probation Period:
- 1st Year: 70% of minimum pay scale + allowances
- 2nd Year: 80% of minimum pay scale + allowances
- 3rd Year: 90% of minimum pay scale + allowances
